Smart parking

Digital Parking Signage on King William Road

The City of Unley has installed Smart Parking sensors in selected locations along King William Road and in Heywood Park.

The sensors relay parking availability to digital signage located at entrance roads, allowing visitors to easily find a parking spot.

The parking usage data from the sensors is being used by Council to make informed decisions regarding future parking infrastructure and policy to help manage parking turnover.

Park Adelaide App

The City of Unley has partnered with the City of Adelaide and City of Marion to expand coverage of the Park Adelaide App.

The Park Adelaide App helps residents and visitors find free parking at Heywood Park and King William Road.

The App displays parking spaces that are available in real time so motorists can identify and secure parking spaces quickly and easily.

The app reduces the time spent looking for parking, which improves the visitor experience and provides opportunity for visitors to linger longer, benefiting local businesses.

The Park Adelaide App can be downloaded from either the iOS App Store or Google Play and can be used across all three council areas.

How to use the Park Adelaide App

To find available parking at these smart parking locations, open the app and select King William Road or Heywood Park.

The coloured markers (red, green and amber) indicate the number of parks that are available.

Tapping a map marker will give you more information about the parking controls in that area, including hours of operation and time limits.

Although the City of Unley parking locations displayed in the app are free and no payment is required, once logged into the app, you may receive notifications for when your parking time-limit is about to expire.

As opportunities to extend smart parking technology grow over time, so will the number of car parks listed on the App, making parking in Unley a breeze.
