Buskers & performers

A permit is required if you, or a small group wish to busk on Council property which includes parks, footpaths, streets, or roads. 
Busking activities can include;
  • Playing a musical instrument/singing
  • An activity such as facepainting
  • A performance - juggling, miming, magic, dancing, art, puppetry
or any other related activity taking place on council property.

 

Follow the steps below to apply for a Busking performance permit.

Online

Step 1.What you will need

  • A copy of your public liability insurance to the value of $20 million dollars.
  • A description of your Busking performance, and the size of the area you wish to occupy

Step 2.Costs

  • Please refer to the Fees & Charges Schedule for costs.
  • You will be charged for the total number of days you apply for the permit, regardless if you undertake the activity or not.
  • Busking permits are only valid for a 30 day period. If you wish to re-apply you will need to complete a new application.

  • Please allow up to 5 working days for us to process and respond to your application.
  • We will contact you to make payment if your application is approved.

In person

Return your application, along with a copy of your Public Liability Insurance, in person, Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5pm.
