A street trading activity permit is required for any activity that takes place on a public street, road or space, including:
  • collecting money or selling on behalf of a charity of non-for-profit organisation; and
  • conducting a survey or petition or distributing pamphlets or literature.

Follow the steps below to apply for a street trading activity permit:

Online

Step 1.What you will need

  • A copy of your public liability insurance to the value of $20 million dollars, with the City of Unley listed as an interested party.
  • A description of the activity you wish to carry out and the size and location of the area you wish to occupy.

Step 2.Costs

Please refer to 'Street Traders' in the 2023-24 Fees & Charges Schedule(PDF, 2MB) for costs.

  • There is a cost of $8.50 per day. You will be charged for the total number of days you apply for the permit, regardless if you undertake the activity or not.
  • Permits are only valid for a 30 day period. If you wish to re-apply you will need to complete a new application.

Please allow up to 5 working days for us to process and respond to your application.

We will contact you to make payment if your application is approved.
