Towards 2050 - Our New Community Plan

The City of Unley has finalised its Community Plan: Towards 2050, a strategic roadmap that sets the vision for a connected, progressive, and resilient city. Developed with input from our community, businesses and Elected Members, the plan ensures that Council’s priorities reflect what matters most to the people who live, work, visit, and operate businesses in Unley.
The Community Plan focuses on four key themes to guide decision-making and investment for the years ahead:
Environment: Strengthening our urban forest, advancing a circular economy, and enhancing climate resilience.
Community: Fostering inclusivity, wellbeing, and social connection.
Economy: Supporting local businesses and ensuring a dynamic, prosperous, and diverse economic landscape.
Places and Spaces: Enhancing public spaces and urban environments for residents, visitors and businesses.
How Local Businesses Can Help Drive Unley’s Vision
The success of this plan depends on a collaborative effort - and local businesses are key partners in shaping a thriving Unley. Here’s some ways you can contribute:
Champion Local Supply Chains: Consider sourcing materials, services, and products from fellow Unley businesses to keep investment circulating within our community.
Adopt Sustainable Business Practices: Implement waste reduction initiatives, energy-efficient solutions, or sustainable packaging to align with Unley’s environmental goals.
Activate Spaces and Events: Partner with neighbouring businesses to drive local activation and take part in or leverage from events to increase local visitation and boost the profile of your business.
Support Local Employment: Invest in local talent by hiring and training Unley residents, including young people and jobseekers looking to enter the workforce.
