Unley’s Best in Business to Be Celebrated!

The 2025 City of Unley Business Awards are now open!
Following the success of the inaugural program, nominations are now open for the 2025 City of Unley Business Awards, a celebration of excellence that recognises local businesses going above and beyond. From visionary start-ups to established icons, these awards aim to champion local business, promote economic resilience, and showcase best practice in enterprise leadership. “The awards aren’t just about recognising success, they are about building a stronger, more connected community,” says City of Unley Mayor, Michael Hewitson. “Unley is home to some of South Australia’s most progressive and inspiring businesses, and we want to celebrate the people behind them. These awards are a chance to elevate their stories and spark further innovation.”

The City of Unley Business Awards highlight business excellence across five distinct categories. The Outstanding Contribution in the Community award recognises businesses fostering community inclusivity and accessibility and drive positive social change through community programs, or purpose-driven initiatives. This category is being sponsored by the Kelledy Jones Lawyers. Leader in Sustainability and Environment award celebrates organisations prioritising environmental stewardship and sustainability and is sponsored by Bright Eye Films.
Arkaba Hotel have got behind the Leader in Transformation and Innovation award to acknowledge businesses driving innovation and growth through market adaptation. The People’s Choice award seeks nominations by customers and will be determined by the highest number of votes. This category is sponsored by Haigh’s Chocolates. Additionally, a new category has been introduced this year to acknowledge businesses operating for less than two years or that have seen significant growth in the past two years.
Whether you are a café creating inclusive spaces, a retailer making strides in circular design, or a young enterprise redefining growth, there is a category for every story worth celebrating. Nominations are open until Wednesday 3 September 2025, and businesses operating within the Unley council area with a registered ABN are eligible to enter. Finalists will be announced Monday 8 September, with winners revealed at the Awards Ceremony on Wednesday 24 September 2025.
Entries are submitted via a simple online form, and nominees will benefit from exposure, recognition, and connection with Unley’s broader business network. Winners will receive $500 cash, a trophy and certificate, a range of exclusive mentoring and business development support, a $1,000 voucher for Green Gold Energy solar panel installation, as well as a $100 food and beverage voucher for Arkaba Hotel.
