New business hub at the Edmund Ave Cottages
Published on 28 February 2023
The City of Unley's 1970's vision for the heritage Edmund Avenue row cottages has been realised with a tasteful conversion that overlooks the Civic Centre and Village Green.
Since 2018, a community working group has been working with council to activate the precinct. Now after several years of construction and renovations, three of the six properties are now interconnected and operating as a hub for up to 45 businesses and entrepreneurs.
Little City took occupancy of the redeveloped property in 2022 and now offer modern office facilities that combine desk spaces, offices, meeting rooms, break-out spaces and private rooms to make phone calls. Already 40 businesses have moved into the unique, light-filled facility. Occupants include design, communications, accounting and some home-based businesses that require temporary office facilities and meeting spaces.
In the older section of the property (that face onto Edmund Avenue), the cottages retain their former charm of high ceilings and leadlight door trims whereas the adjacent interconnected space is bright and modern with views that overlook the Village Green.
Little City have achieved functionality of a modern workspace without the corporate feel and attention-to-detail that extends to the delicate homely aroma and office plants that create a comfortable space to do business.
On offer is 21 premium dedicated desks (with park views) and 15 generous-sized offices all with external windows, along with two well-equipped boardrooms plus two 2 smaller meeting / call booths. And coffee and tea is on hand in the modern kitchen and breakout area.
The swift uptake of the new facilities reaffirms the desire to do business a bit differently in Unley with a lifestyle that other business precincts already offer.
