Destination Highgate's new website

A new-look website promoting the Highgate Village shopping precinct has been unveiled.

The site, Destination Highgate, is an initiative of Fullarton Road South Traders Association.

Highgate Village encompasses about fifty specialty shops and businesses at the southern end of Fullarton Road. Its array of traders includes Mad.Good Café, Yogita Yoga, Highgate Pharmacy, Sportitude, Flowers by Alice, Purple Pooch Dog Grooming and many more.

Dave Green, who’s on the Association’s committee, led the upgrade of the site through his advertising agency, EnvyUs Design. He’s been on the jacaranda-lined strip for fifteen years.

‘The new website showcases the goods and services offered by traders with a simplified, more user-friendly design’ Dave says.

‘People don’t have to go out of the area to, say, see a physiotherapist or get a new pair of shoes or a dress. This helps them know who’s actually in the area.’

‘The site’s been modernised, it’s more mobile-friendly, and it’ll be constantly evolving, with links to our social media.’

Dave says the Fullarton Road precinct is ‘one of Adelaide’s best-kept secrets’ with easy parking in a convenient location.

Website visitors can now search for traders via categories such as fashion, finance, food, education, and medical. An ‘events’ section also spruiks local happenings including movie nights, markets and fairs.

Fellow committee member Nicholas Pike has operated family-run Pike Jewellers on Fullarton Road for eight years and loves its ‘village vibe.’

‘Traders know the regulars by name. It’s got that community feeling. The businesses are all quite close together as well, so it doesn’t take long to walk from one end to the other.’

‘The new website not only highlights that sense of community but will draw others to this special area. More people will get to know it’s not just a group of shops, it is, as the name suggests, a real destination.’
