The past few years have presented big hurdles and times of uncertainty for many people.

Psychotherapist and owner of Blossom Psychotherapy, Yolandi Müller, says the pandemic has seen demand increase for mental health services.

‘Isolation and loneliness, bereavement, loss of income, fear, anger and uncertainty about the future have triggered health conditions and exacerbated existing ones’ Yolandi says.

‘For many people, it may have created insomnia, depression and anxiety, and increased levels of alcohol and drug use as a means of coping.’

‘On the other hand, it may also have helped to make us more grateful for the little things in life that we sometimes take for granted. It’s certainly increased awareness that good mental health is essential for our wellbeing.’

Yolandi works with clients to address a range of issues, including phobias, anxiety, depression, grief, weight and habit control, and athletic performance.

‘Blossom Psychotherapy is all about fostering mental, emotional and physical wellness - helping people to feel comfortable in themselves and with the world around them.’

‘I work with people to build their confidence and resilience, self-belief and to address issues that might be preventing them from achieving their full potential.’

‘As an integrative psychotherapist, I utilise different psychotherapeutic models and have a toolbox of skills at my disposal - hypnosis, EFT (emotional freedom technique), NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and Resource Therapy - to name a few.’

Yolandi is aiming to start offering her services to children soon, and she will be assisting with the mental health needs of Sturt’s SANFLW teams.

‘I believe everyone can benefit from therapy, whether to work on issues holding us back to feeling more motivated and focused, or just dealing with the stresses of everyday life’ she says.

‘I just hope I can continue to provide a valuable service to the community.’

Blossom Psychotherapy is located at 63 Unley Road, Parkside (in The Athlete Lab).
